Privacy
Twine is a small, invite-only test run by its founder. Last updated September 2026.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- Your name and optional one-line bio, which other members can see.
- Your phone number. It is shared with another member only after you both agree to talk, so one of you can call.
- How well you know other members. This is private to you; it controls who sees you when you're free.
- When you mark yourself free, knock, answer, and how calls went, plus basic usage events (like opening the app). This is the research data for the test.
- Notification tokens for your devices, and your reminder times and timezone.
What we never do
- No ads, ever. We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't record calls. Calls happen on your phone's normal phone app.
- We don't read your contacts or track your location.
Text messages
If you opt in, Twine texts you when someone knocks or says yes to your knock. Message frequency varies, typically a few a week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. We don't share your number or opt-in with third parties for marketing.
Who processes data for us
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (text messages), Resend (sign-in emails), and your phone's push notification service (Apple or Google).
Your choices
You can change your profile, phone number and texting preference in the app at any time. To delete your account and data, contact the person who invited you or the Twine organizer, and we'll remove it within 7 days.
